This 12 day tour of Morocco from Casablanca will take you to all of the incredible destinations in Morocco, from the stunning Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca to the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech. You will explore both the northern and southern regions of Morocco, visiting the historic imperial cities and the enchanting Sahara Desert. Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Your 12-day Morocco tour will begin with your arrival in Casablanca, where you will be picked up from the airport or your hotel. You will then be taken to your hotel for check-in and a chance to relax after your journey.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, you will leave Casablanca and travel to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. You will visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Hassan Tower, and the Mohammed V Mausoleum. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Chefchaouen Sightseeing
After breakfast in your hotel, you will start your day exploring the beautiful blue-washed city of Chefchaouen. You will visit the Kasbah, the Outa Hammam Square, and the Ras Elma River. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the city on your own or relax in a local café.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, you will leave Chefchaouen and travel to Volubilis, the ancient Roman city. You will then continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, where you will visit the famous Bab Mansour gate and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Fes, where you will spend the night.
Day 5: Fes Sightseeing
After breakfast in your hotel, you will start your day exploring the historical city of Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. You will visit the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter, and the famous tanneries. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the city on your own or relax in a local café.
Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, you will leave Fes and travel to Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, where you will visit the cedar forest and see the Barbary macaques. You will then continue to Midelt, where you will have lunch. After lunch, you will travel to Merzouga, where you will spend the night in a desert camp.
Day 7: Merzouga Sightseeing
After breakfast in your camp, you will start your day exploring the magnificent Sahara Desert. You will take a camel ride and visit the nomads who live in the desert. In the afternoon, you will have free time to explore the desert on your own or relax in your camp.
Day 8: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt
After breakfast at the camp, we will ride our camels back to Merzouga village. Then, we will leave for Midelt, passing by Rissani, Erfoud, and Errachidia. You will have a chance to explore the Erfoud fossil factory, where they make beautiful objects from marble fossils.
Next, we will drive through the Ziz Valley, which is known for its palm trees and beautiful landscapes. We will stop in Midelt, where we will have lunch and stay overnight at a local hotel.
Day 9: Merzouga to Dades Gorges via Rissani and Todra Gorges
On day 9 of the itinerary, you’ll leave Merzouga and travel through the ancient city of Rissani, which was once an important stop on the trans-Saharan caravan routes. Then, you’ll continue on to the stunning Todra Gorges, where you can take a walk and admire the impressive rock formations. From there, you’ll drive to Dades Gorges, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery.
Day 10: Dades Gorges to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou
On day 10, you’ll leave Dades Gorges and head to Ouarzazate, which is known as the “Gateway to the Desert”. You’ll visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah, which was once the residence of the Glaoui family. Then, you’ll continue on to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s famous for its mud-brick buildings and historic architecture. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, you’ll drive to Marrakech, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 11: Marrakech Sightseeing
On day 11, you’ll have a full day to explore the bustling city of Marrakech. You’ll visit the Koutoubia Mosque, one of the most famous landmarks in the city, as well as the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. You’ll also have some free time to explore the vibrant souks and markets of Marrakech, where you can shop for souvenirs and local handicrafts.
Day 12: Transfer to the Airport
On the final day of the itinerary, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. This marks the end of an amazing 12-day adventure in Morocco, filled with incredible sights and unforgettable experiences.
