5 days Desert tour from Tangier to Marrakech

During this 5-day tour from Tangier to Marrakech via the Sahara desert Merzouga, you will visit the blue city Chefchaouen, explore the amazing old city Fes, take a camel ride in the desert, and spend an unforgettable night in a desert camp. You will arrive in Marrakech in the evening of the 5th day.

DAY 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen

After breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up and begin our journey to the “Blue City” of Chefchaouen. Photographers will fall in love with this destination due to its white and blue washed walls. We will take a walk inside the medina to enjoy the beautiful buildings of this city. Overnight in a hotel/Riad.

DAY 2: Chefchaouen – Fes

After breakfast, we will head to Fes, the oldest city in Morocco and one of the four imperial cities. We will spend most of the day in the old part of Fes (the medina), walking in its narrow streets. We will visit the Royal Palace Gate known for its golden gate and the University of Al Quaraouyine, the oldest existing. After lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant in the medina, we will visit the famous Tanneries and the Jewish quarter before we go back to your Riad. Overnight in your Riad/Hotel.

DAY 3: Fes – Merzouga Erg Chebbi Dunes

After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel/Riad in Fes around 8:30 am, then start our journey to the desert. Our first destination will be Ifrane, called the Switzerland of Morocco, for a short walk. Then we will continue our tour to Azrou, where we may catch a glimpse of the Barbary apes. Lunch will be in Midelt. Afterward, we will continue our trip to Merzouga, where we will find an experienced camel man and camels waiting to carry us across the fabulous Merzouga Erg Chebbi Dunes for around half an hour to reach the camp. Spend the night with locals under the stars.

DAY 4: Merzouga Desert – Dades Gorges

After breakfast in the camp and camel trek back to Merzouga town, we will start our journey to Dades Gorges via Rissani, the foundation of the current ruling family, and the place for caravan routes during the old ages. We will have a stop here before we leave for the Todra Gorges, where we will have a walk under the 300 meters high cliffs. Arrive in Dades Gorges in the evening, have dinner and overnight in a hotel/Riad.

DAY 5: Dades Gorges – Marrakech

We will start our last day by driving to Ouarzazate to visit the Atlas Studio. After the visit, we will drive to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is a perfect location for numerous movies such as Lawrence Of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game Of Thrones. After lunch in Ait Ben Haddou village, we will go towards Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 meters). We will have a stop in a panoramic view for fabulous pictures. Get to your hotel/riad in Marrakech in the evening. End of this tour from Tangier to Marrakech.
