In addition to the camel trekking, watching the sunset and sunrise over Erg Chebbi, and spending a night in the desert, the 3-day Fes desert tour will take you through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Merzouga and the High Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. You’ll get to see the Barbary macaques in the cedar forest near Azrou, a famous old-world monkey species, explore the Todra Canyon, visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and more.

Day 1: Fez to Merzouga
The tour starts after breakfast in your hotel or riad in Fes. You’ll drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping to see the Barbary macaques in the cedar forests and enjoying lunch at a restaurant along the way. You’ll also stop to see the palm trees in the Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga in the evening. You’ll then ride camels to a desert camp in Erg Chebbi, watch the sunset, and spend the night with Berbers under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga to Dades
Wake up early to watch the sunrise and enjoy your last camel trek before leaving the desert. You’ll drive to Boumalne Dades via Rissani, Erfoud, and Todgha Gorges. If it’s Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, you’ll visit a traditional market in Rissani. You’ll also enjoy a walk along the Todra River and see the monkey fingers rock formations. Spend the night in a hotel in Boumalne Dades.
Day 3: Dades to Marrakech
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Ait Ben Haddou through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate. You can visit the Atlas Studio or just take pictures from outside in Ouarzazate. You’ll then visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and have lunch before driving to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy stunning landscapes along the way and arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
